Payton Pritchard was interviewed postgame following the Celtics’ 109-104 loss vs the Brooklyn Nets. He talked about the team’s turnover issues, adjusting to new roles, and how he has been able to extend his range in three-point land.
The Celtics had 19 turnovers in this one and it led to the Nets outsourcing them 32-0 on the fastbreak. “Anytime you turn the ball over a lot and you give a team like Brooklyn an opportunity to get out in transition and hit easy shots it's going to be tough to win games,” Pritchard said.
He was also asked about whether or not he has had to adjust his role throughout the season. Boston has dealt with a ton of injuries, forcing Pritchard to take on a bigger workload in some games. “As a basketball player I have to keep finding ways to be aggressive offensively and defensively,” he said. He said he wants to be “the best basketball player I can be to help this team.”
Lastly, Pritchard talked about his ability to shoot threes far behind the three-point line. “I think I had it before I came in [to the NBA],” said Pritchard. “It's just harder to contest that further out.”
